Stonemountain64 Setup
- PC: I went with a custom-configured pre-built PC from Xidax this time around. It was easier and more convenient for me to not build it myself, even with the slightly higher cost overall.
- CPU: Intel Core i9 13900k – 8 P-Core 16 E-Core/32 thread, 5.8GHz turbo clock – THE best gaming CPUs money can buy in Q4 2022. I don’t currently have my CPU overclocked yet but check back to this page in the future to see what I’ve done, this thing can BOOST.
- GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming X Trio 24G – This card is UNREAL. The best graphics card ever (as of time of writing). Crazy rasterization performance and even better RT performance. Crazy expensive. This card makes 4k high-refresh-rate gaming a reality. Beats the 3090Ti by 25-50%.
- Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximum Z790 Hero – No joke, this thing is overkill for 99% of people out there, but it’s unbelievably packed with features. Supports Intel 13th gen CPUs and DDR5 and PCI-E gen 5.0. Will allow overclocking to the moon.
- CPU Cooler: “Xidax Ultra RGB 360mm AIO” – All In One (AIO) closed water cooling loop. Has three 120mm fans to provide ample cooling to the 13900k (which is a chip that runs notoriously hot). It’s just a rebrand of another popular AIO.
- RAM: 32GB (16GB x 2) G.Skill Trident Z6 6000MHz CL36- VERY fast RAM on the DDR5 platform. These sticks will overclock very well, and they look pretty nice in my case.
- SSD: 2TB Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus: Absolutely blazing read/write speeds (7100/6600MB/s) on one of the best Gen4 PCIe NVME SSD’s money can buy. This thing is FAST! Will load games in an instant.
- HDD 1: 6TB Seagate hard drive – Carried over from the previous gaming build. I needed more storage for my livestreams, this seems to work great.
- HDD 2: 4TB Seagate hybrid drive – Carried over from the previous gaming build. highly recommend, huge storage and faster access to it than your standard HDD drive. Hybrid drives use a small SSD cache, for short term information, allowing for faster reading/writing speeds.
- PSU: “Xidax-approved 80+ Platinum 1200W” (aka BeQuiet! Dark Power Pro 11 1200W) – It’s no surprise that a 13900k and RTX 4090 need a hell of a lot of power behind them. Up to 800-900W at full load! This PSU is a BeQuiet! unit that certainly gets the job done.
- Case: “Leviathan X White” (re-branded MetallicGear Neo Qube, a knockoff of the Lian Li O11 Dynamic Evo) – Pretty cool-looking case. Not much else to say as I likely won’t need to build much in it. But it fits the 4090 just fine and allows it to keep cool.
